Greetings All,
Today’s Food for Thought
What if we showed the same drive and determination at our workplaces or school that we do in our spiritual lives? Would we deserve that promotion or that wonderful A+ , or would we struggle?
What if we had the same attendance record at school or work that we do at church services?
What if we were consistently late to work or school as sometimes we are to church services?
The fact of the matter is that our Christian lives are showing the same casualness that our outside lives are showing. It’s all in our attitude. Every Sunday and Wednesday as I sit in the pew I see an epidemic of absenteeism as well as a failure to be punctual. When one is consistently late or absent it’s showing that personal life is way more important than worshiping God. It’s the same old pattern of putting self before others, one of the others being a loving God who sacrificed his son for the world.
I don’t mean to turn musings into a tirade. We’ve been blessed beyond measure. Let us always be mindful, respectful, and loving. We can shout it from the mountaintops all day long, but everyone knows “actions speak louder than words.”
Yours,
A.H.
